Avocado – Avocado is a great source of monounsaturated fats, the kind of fats that are linked to heart health. Avocado is also a wonderful source of vitamins A, E and D. In skincare avocado oil is used for its nourishing and soothing properties, a rich green oil it penetrates the skin deeply and helps maintain healthy barrier function, making it particularly good for stressed skins. Tomatoes – Tomatoes are a rich source of carotenoids such as lycopene, beta-carotene and lutein which are known for their antioxidant benefits. A Tomato salad drizzled with olive oil is one of life’s simple pleasures and such an easy way to add this superfood to any meal. Lemon – Lemon is a wonderfully refreshing citrus fruit, and an excellent source of vitamin C. Added to water, fresh lemon makes your daily hydration that little bit more exciting. Furthermore, drinking lemon water first thing in the morning can help flush the digestive system and rehydrate the body. Lemon hydrosol is a gorgeous ingredient to add to your daily skincare, as it is naturally anti-bacterial, soothing and calming but with a gently uplifting scent. Korean Ginseng – The herb Korean Ginseng is highly regarded in the Orient. There have been studies showing its ability to boost skin-firming collagen and thanks to the high levels of phytonutrients and antioxidants it has been shown to encourage skin healing and cellular regeneration. Blueberries – Blueberries are a delicious superfood to add into your routine as a snack or at breakfast time, especially good on overnight oats. But did you know blueberry oil is a powerhouse ingredient in skincare too? Containing all three Omegas 3, 6 and 9, rare fatty acids and vitamins A,C, E and K.
